I’ve worked as an advertising/corporate communications writer in the retail field for over twenty years, most currently as a Senior Copywriter/Editor for a large retail chain in Canada.
In the fall of 1999, I established and continue to act as moderator for a community group of writers, called the Markham Village Writers. In 2004, I arranged a collaboration of the Markham Village Writers and the Markham Group of Artists to produce an anthology of short fiction and full-color juried artwork, called The Collected Works. Copies are currently catalogued in Library and Archives Canada, in Ottawa. I also volunteered for three years as editor and contributing writer for the Markham Arts Council publication, Arts In Motion, and in 2010, was a recipient of Markham’s Mackie Award, for my contribution to literary arts in my community.
My publication credits include creative non-fiction, informational articles, poetry and short fiction published in the Canadian Writer’s Journal, a Prevention Magazine special edition book, the 2008 and 2009 business editions of Superbrands Canada coffee table books, CanadaOne.com business ezine, Absolute Write ezine, Mocha Memoirs Literary ezine, the Staples Canada How’s Business? blog, Good Times magazine, and numerous other publications. I am currently working on a variety of writing projects.
My Home Life
On the home front, I’ve been married for over 30 years and have an incredible daughter. She, too, enjoys a career in advertising as a copywriter.
I am a create-a-holic. I enjoy creating beautiful things. When I don’t have my head buried in a good book, I spend time in my craft room, working on new projects.
Life just gets better and better.
